The Ragged Robin welcomes Jeremy Hunt MP

ree

The Ragged Robin in Godalming, today hosted a visit from local MP, The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt following its multi-million pound refurbishment by award-winning Heartwood Inns.

The visit, which took place this morning, saw Mr Hunt tour the premises, meet with staff and discuss the importance of hospitality businesses to the local economy of Godalming and the wider constituency of Godalming and Ash. Formerly known as The Manor Inn, The Ragged Robin which opened in June, has 19 beautifully designed boutique bedrooms, 213 internal covers across the bar and dining room and a further 124 covers in the spacious, thoughtfully landscaped garden that sits on the banks of the River Wey. Guests visiting the pub can enjoy a seasonally changing menu crafted by skilled chefs and a carefully selected wine and drinks list in line with Heartwood’s three star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association, the highest rating possible.

Richard Ferrier, CEO of Heartwood Inns, commented on the visit: “We were delighted to welcome Jeremy Hunt to The Ragged Robin today. As a business, we are passionate about investing in local communities and creating spaces where people can gather, relax, and enjoy great food and drink. The Ragged Robin is a fantastic example of our commitment to this and it was a pleasure to show Mr Hunt the work that has gone into making it such a wonderful destination."

Jeremy Hunt, MP for Godalming and Ash, said: "It was a real pleasure to visit The Ragged Robin and to see the results of this significant investment in the Godalming area. The team have done a superb job in transforming this site into a vibrant riverside venue, with the added benefit of jobs and training for local people. The hospitality sector remains vital to our local economy; I wish the team every success."
