More people than ever are seeking unique and authentic experiences that bear the heart and soul of a country that they can retell to friends and family. Stories around food, travel, nature and culture are aspects of Czech heritage often remain untold in our country. This month sees the launch of a new website (www.czechstories.com) as a channel to tell the real stories of the Czech Republic.

There is an undeniable romance and rich culture of the Czech Republic beyond the trip to Prague that many people have been lucky enough to experience. To begin to unpack this dynamic destination with a rich history and unique natural beauty, the Czech Tourism team have united with Budweiser Budvar – the only brewery wholly-owned by the people of the Czech Republic.

The new website, initially launching with content including; How to Make the Perfect Goulash, Bohemian Rhapsody (the ultimate Southern Bohemian road trip); Behind the Mask (the story of the Masopust mask making tradition), Searching for the Spring (the national treasure that is the Šumava National Park and its rivers) and The Man Behind the Beer – a look at Budweiser Budvar through the eyes of their Beer Sommelier.

Katarína Hobbs, Director of Czech Tourism UK & Ireland said: “There are so many beautiful stories in the Czech Republic that we know people want to hear. Working with a brewery like Budweiser Budvar to support the activity was important to us as they really represent the brewing heritage of the country. We hope to collaborate with journalists and publications on the launch of this site and its content”.

Simon George, UK Managing Director, Budweiser Budvar UK said: “For us, the website and its content is a way to engage with drinkers who are passionate about beer with real provenance, and have a thirst for immersing themselves in everything that goes with that – whether it be travelling to the region or understanding more about its culture and cuisine”.

The Czech Tourism agency, along with its offices abroad, ensures its successful presentation on the domestic and foreign markets. The Czech Tourism Authority – Czech Tourism is a contributory organisation of the Ministry for Regional Development and was established in 1993. Its significant partner agencies include domestic tourist regions, cities, municipalities and businesses.

Budweiser Budvar is brewed in the Bohemian town of České Budějovice and is wholly owned by the people of the Czech Republic. Brewing exceptional lager something of a matter of national pride. Budweiser Budvar celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2015 but the town itself has a history of brewing for over 700 years.

Budweiser Budvar Original and Tankové Pivo are brewed and conditioned for a total of 102 days, 7 times longer than most other beers. This no shortcuts attitude to brewing is owed to the fact that the brewery is run by brewers, not accountants.
