The United Kingdom of Beer goes on tour

To celebrate the release of United Kingdom of Beer, award-winning author Adrian Tierney-Jones will visit breweries and beer shops to discuss his selection of the best 250 beers from across the British Isles.

Focusing entirely on the domestic market, the United Kingdom of Beer offers a comprehensive overview of the numerous types and styles of beer available in modern Britain, complete with tasting notes and fascinating background stories about each beer as well as an insightful look into how to pair the beers with food, mood and occasion.

As part of his UK tour, Adrian will be heading to the following destinations to discuss his new title:

  • 8 April – Brew York, Walmgate, York
  • 9 April – CAMRA Members’ Weekend, Winter Gardens, Eastbourne
  • 20 April – Orbit Brewery, London
  • 22 April – Lost And Grounded, Brislington, Bristol
  • 23 April – Vessel Beer, Plymouth
  • 5 May – Anspach & Hobday, London
  • 15 June – Neon Raptor Brewing Co., Nottingham

The writer will be imparting his wisdom on a selection of the beers featured in his book and leading tastings, while throwing in a few stories from his beer travels. There will also be opportunities to purchase United Kingdom of Beer and have it signed by the author.

Adrian Tierney-Jones said: “It’s brilliant to take United Kingdom of Beer on the road and share some of the fantastic beers in bottle and can that I think deserve the spotlight. Coming out of the pandemic, 2022 is a fantastic year to enjoy the many delights that the exceptional breweries across the UK have to offer – particularly those beer available in bottles and can. I’m looking forward to meeting the people that are as passionate about beer as I am!”

Adrian has also highlighted six of the best beers to try with an easter egg ahead of Easter Weekend (15-17 April). These include:

  • Attic Brew, Mild
  • Hammerton Brewery, Crunch
  • Harviestoun Brewery, Wheesht
  • Lacons, Audit Ale
  • Mouth St Bernards Abbey, Tynt Meadow Trappist Ale
  • Ridgeway Brewing, Imperial Barley Wine

All beers are recently featured in his title.
