The Woodman, Southgate Is Now Open – Opening Marks Heartwood Inns’ 35th Pub

Heartwood Inns is delighted to announce the opening of its 35th pub, The Woodman in Southgate, which has officially opened its doors to the public.

The opening was celebrated with a launch event attended by members of the local community, marking the return of a much-loved pub to the heart of Southgate. Guests were invited to explore the newly refurbished space and join the team in celebrating this significant milestone for Heartwood Inns with an official ribbon cutting, live music and a welcome speech from Heartwood Collection CEO, Richard Ferrier.

The Woodman has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment to breathe new life into the pub while respecting its heritage and character. The transformation combines warm, welcoming interiors with Heartwood’s signature design, creating an inviting space including a brand new extension to the rear for locals and visitors alike to eat, drink and socialise.

Leading the team at The Woodman is General Manager Filip Tlustochowicz alongside Head Chef Ram Rana Magar, who will deliver Heartwood’s seasonally changing, sustainably sourced menu. Guests can expect comforting pub classics made with quality British ingredients, alongside a carefully curated drinks list featuring local cask ales, craft beers, an extensive wine selection and classic cocktails.

To celebrate its opening, The Woodman will host a lively programme of weekly events. Guests can enjoy Steak Night every Wednesday, with a complimentary bottle of wine when ordering any two steaks, live music on Fridays, and weekly quiz and games nights on Tuesdays. Throughout February, the pub will also host Meet the Brewer events on Mondays, giving guests the chance to discover and sample beers from a range of brewing partners.

Families and four-legged friends are also welcome, with ‘Paws in the Pub’ every Saturday in February, a community dog meet offering complimentary tea and coffee for owners and limited-edition Woodman dog bandanas for furry visitors.

Richard Ferrier said:“We’re incredibly proud to be opening our 35th pub with The Woodman in Southgate. This is a fantastic community pub, and we’ve taken great care to restore it as a warm and welcoming place for everyone. With a full calendar of events from steak nights to live music and dog-friendly gatherings, we’re excited to become a true hub for the local area.”

The Woodman is now open and welcoming guests for lunch, dinner and drinks.
