Woodforde’s Brewery announces new partnership with Norfolk Cricket Board

Woodfordes Brewery has announced its new sponsorship of Norfolks Over 40s Social Cricket League.

The brewery, based in Woodbastwick, looks to extend its partnerships with sports clubs and organisations within East Anglia, as part of its ambitious plans for growth.

Woodfordes, Norfolks largest brewery, already has long-standing relationships with Norwich City Football Club, Wroxham Football Club, Royal Norwich Golf Club and Norfolk Rugby Football Union.

This new partnership will see both the Norfolk Cricket Board (NCB) and Woodfordes Brewery create an environment for people to come together, play some cricket and enjoy a sociable drink afterwards.

The Over 40s competition was formed in 2014 with nine teams and has gone from strength to strength. Now in its 11th year, 21 teams will compete throughout the 2024 summer in three regional competitions.

Woodfordes Business Development Manager, James Sneddon said: We are thrilled to be joining up with the NCB for the season ahead.

Our brewery sits in the heart of Norfolk so we are proud to support local cricket, united over our shared passion for the game.

We are proud to support local sports teams in the area and would love to speak to more clubs about stocking Woodfordes beers so teams can catch up with a proper Norfolk pint after their big match.

Lewis Denmark, NCB Cricket Development Director, saidWe are very much looking forward to working with the Woodforde’s team and welcoming them into the portfolio of businesses supporting Norfolk cricket.

“Partnerships like this are fantastic in helping us provide cricket for all ages”.
