A POPULAR Edinburgh brewer has unveiled a limited-edition release ahead of the World Cup, designed to support fans through the tournament’s late-night fixtures.
Vault City Brewery has introduced Blue Brew: World Cup 2026 Edition, a sour beer featuring a unique flavour profile with a hint of bubble gum and added caffeine, created as a tribute to Scotland’s beloved soft drink while offering a much-needed boost for those tuning in for overnight matches back home.
This marks Scotland’s first World Cup appearance in nearly three decades, with fixtures hosted in North America resulting in challenging kick-off times for supporters at home. Fans keen to catch Scotland’s games against Haiti, Morocco, and Brazil face late-night and early-morning viewings, including a 2am start on 14 June.
Vault City has developed Blue Brew specifically to help fans stay energised and ensure they don’t miss a moment of Scotland’s historic return to the tournament.
Presented in a striking blue 440ml can, Blue Brew contains 5.5% ABV and is suitable for vegans, though it does contain gluten. The brewery describes the release as both a tribute to Scotland’s beloved soft drink and a practical boost for those watching through the night.
Steven Smith-Hay, co-founder of Vault City, said: “We wanted to give Scotland something special for the World Cup: a beer that celebrates our culture while helping supporters through every minute of those late kick-offs.
“Blue Brew offers the familiar taste everyone loves, with an extra burst of energy for those unforgettable World Cup nights.”
The World Cup Edition of Blue Brew is part of a limited-edition rerelease of Vault City’s popular Iron Brew range, with new packaging introduced especially ahead of the tournament.
Vault City is also offering a World Cup 2026 bundle, featuring twelve cans, a sticker sheet, and a pint glass, now available for £56.23.
The launch coincides with a national bank holiday on Monday, 15 June, following Scotland’s opening 2am fixture.
Blue Brew is available for a limited time at £6.80, providing supporters with a distinctly Scottish option to celebrate, whether at the pub or enjoying the match from home in pyjamas.
