A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN – FOOTBALL GROUND TO HOST THE 29TH STOCKPORT BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL!

Stockport Beer and Cider Festival kicks off in style this month at Edgeley Park Football Ground, home of Stockport County FC.

A three day celebration of quality real ale and traditional cider, the annual event takes place from Thursday, May 28th to Saturday, May 30th 2015.

Festival-goers will be able to quench their thirst with over 200 beers and ciders to choose from during the festival, including more than a dozen cask beers from around the country which have never been seen before, plus bottled beers from across Europe and the USA to tantalise the tastebuds.

There will also be a number of new breweries exhibiting this year along with a few old favourites. The list of beers at the festival will be confirmed nearer the date.

The use of the stadium gives festival-goers the guarantee of a seat as the Cheadle Stand Terrace holds around 5,000 people. So as well as sampling some of the finest beers and ciders, visitors can take in the fresh air and enjoy the glorious views of aircraft landing or gaze over the rooftops of Stockport to the distant Pennines.

There will be a specially brewed festival ale, stalls, programmes, souvenir T-shirts and glasses, a tombola and games as well as hot and cold food. Families are very welcome in the stand and limited disabled access is available. The Festival is supporting a local mental health charity, Beacon Counselling.

What’s more, festival-goers can enjoy an exciting line-up of live music in the stadium’s large entertainment suite. It includes Lazlo Baby and the Flat Cap 3 (Thursday), Rook and the Ravens (Friday Evening), The Sap Tap (Saturday Lunch), Intrepid Duo (Saturday Tea) and Asparagus and the Kilburn Habit (Saturday Evening).

The 29th Stockport Beer and Cider Festival is organised by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) which has introduced a number of great new initiatives for 2015.
