BOX STEAM BREWERY LAUNCHES NEW BEER TO CELEBRATE THE TOUR OF BRITAIN

Box Steam Brewery is launching a brand new beer to celebrate the Tour of Britain as it passes close to the Wiltshire brewery next month.

Well Oiled is a 5.5% ABV blonde golden British IPA with a fresh, hoppy floral aroma. Full flavoured with an essence of tropical fruits, zesty orange undertones, and a crisp, lingering finish with grapefruit notes.

This year’s Tour of Britain takes place from 7-14 September, with nine stages of racing by more than 100 top international cyclists.

For the first time in its history, the Tour will also be passing close to the brewery on Friday 12 September, as Stage Six navigates the centre of nearby Bradford on Avon on its 205km journey from Bath to Hemel Hempstead.

Well Oiled is the latest in our seasonal guest range, Box Clever Ales, which are brewed in small batches and available for short periods. The range is inspired by one our first brewers, Bob Cleverly, who wrote down his recipes in his notebook, aptly titled Clever Ideas.

Head Brewer Tom Downes comments: “Well Oiled is a well-balanced golden British IPA – which could come in handy when cycling back from your local. Its crisp, lingering finish also makes Well Oiled the perfect accompaniment to watching the race.”

Well Oiled will be available from mid-August until the end of September on selected bars and pubs across the region and along the route of the Tour of Britain.

ABOUT BOX STEAM BREWERY

Box Steam Brewery is an award-winning, independent family-owned craft brewer founded in Wiltshire in 2004 and based just outside Bath.

Head Brewer Tom Downes and his team craft ales using skills passed down through generations of brewers, carefully engineered by hand in the brewery’s steam copper to ensure quality and minimise impact on the environment.

We use the finest local ingredients. Our malt comes from Warminster Maltings (Britain’s oldest working maltings), and we use floor-malted Maris Otter barley – the traditional variety for brewing British Beer.

We only use whole hops in our brewing process, supplied by Charles Faram (hop merchants since 1865), which provide the unique characteristics of our premium quality ale. All of our beers are brewed with a pure strain of Traditional English Ale yeast.

Our ales are the genuine article; real beer for real people who appreciate true quality, character and distinction.
