Brains offers customers free pint if Gareth Bale scores in UEFA Champions League final in Cardiff

Wales’ biggest brewer and hospitality company, Brains, is offering customers a free pint if Gareth Bale scores in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final.

Cardiff-born Bale is set to line up for Real Madrid against Juventus at the National Stadium of Wales this Saturday 3rd June (kick-off 7.45pm).

Supporters of the Welsh superstar will now have an extra reason to cheer on their hero thanks to Brains offer of a free pint if he bags a goal in his hometown.

Working alongside Wales Online, anyone with the Wales Online mobile app will get a notification sent to their phone if Bale scores. They simply show the notification at any participating Brains pub to claim their free pint or soft drink at the bar.

Tim Lewis, PR Manager at Brains, commented: “The UEFA Champions League final is the biggest one-day sporting event ever to be held in Wales and having Gareth Bale, a local boy from Cardiff, involved is the icing on the cake.

“Having worked closely with Gareth on the opening of our new bar partnership, Elevens Bar & Grill, we wanted to show our support for him by offering our customers a free pint if he scores in the final.

“Gareth’s already scored in a Champions League final once before and we are keeping our fingers crossed he can do it again.”

Elevens Bar & Grill opened last month following an extensive redevelopment of the Brains-owned Dempseys venue on Castle Street in the heart of the Welsh capital.

It features 23 television screens over two floors which will show the biggest live sporting events from around the world and high speed BT WiFi dedicated to its customers. It also becomes only the second bar in the UK to house BT Sport’s 4K ultra HD service with Dolby Atmos sound system giving the customer a truly unique experience.

The venue also homes exclusive memorabilia including a replica of the UEFA Champions League winner’s trophy, Bale’s boots from the 2014 Champions League final and football shirts from Pele and Maradona.

In a message to customers on the menu, Cardiff-born Bale commented: “It’s been a dream of mine to open a sports bar in my home town of Cardiff.

“Together with Brains we have tried to create something very special and unique: a premium sports bar and grill in the heart of Cardiff.”
