A brewery in Bury St Edmunds which brews its own range of real ales will be revealing a brand new, re-worked stout recipe at the 24th annual East Anglian Beer Festival.

The Old Cannon Brewery, based on Cannon Street in the town, will be debuting a new version of their Gunport Stout at the popular beer event, which kicks off on Wednesday, April 22, and runs through to Saturday, April 25, at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds.

Known for favourites such as Gunners Daughter, Best Bitter and Blonde Bombshell, the Old Cannon Brewery have spent the last few months perfecting the new and improved version of their Gunport Stout recipe. With a chocolatey, sweet taste, the stout is ideal for female drinkers and softer alternative to a traditional stout. .

Owner Hannah Clark who runs the Brewery with her husband Garry commented: “We’re really excited to be launching the re-worked Gunport Stout at the beer festival. We’re pleased with the new recipe and we’re sure it’s going to be really popular. Our female regulars have been telling us for a while that stout is the next big thing when it comes to women drinkers – so we thought we’d have a look at our recipe and see if we could give it a new lease of life. The festival is a great event for launching new beers and we’re looking forward to it.”

They will also be offering their Old Cannon favourites at the event.
