Brighton Rocks Joins Windhoek Fundraising Campaign In Aid Of Save the Rhino International

Brighton Rocks has kicked off a fundraising campaign in collaboration with Namibian beer brand Windhoek Lager to raise money in aid of Save the Rhino International charity.

One of the hidden gems in England’s famous seaside paradise for those in search of the finest drink, food, service and music, Brighton Rocks will be donating 50p from every bottle of Windhoek Lager sold to the Windhoek Save the Rhino campaign from June until the end of October 2018.

The fundraising campaign will be supported with a regular ‘Windhoek Wednesday’ promotional night featuring live music, exciting promotions and hosts/performers Ollie Bond and Charlie Boswell.

With an incredibly loyal local following, Brighton Rocks offers an eclectic mix of pub, cocktail, bar and music venue with a high-quality food offering plus year-round events and live music.

Fraser Morley, Owner of Brighton Rocks, said:

“It’s great to be supporting this fundraising campaign with Windhoek Lager to support Save the Rhino International in their struggle to conserve and protect rhinos. We’re confident with our creative ‘Windhoek Wednesday’s’ and Brighton’s socially conscious consumer, we can play a key part in raising funds for this worthwhile cause.

Brighton Rocks has become the first bar to join Windhoek Lager’s campaign, which is aiming to raise £5,000 for Save the Rhino International (UK Registered Charity Number 1035072). The #PureBeer brand has always supported rhino conservation in Namibia, previously funding a Piper Cub plane to aid the fight against rhino poaching in Namibia.  It kicked off the UK campaign in May with a Windhoek Lager team member running the Hackney Half Marathon in a rhino outfit and raising £750.

With the recent tragic death of the last male northern white rhino in Kenya showcasing just how vital rhino conservation is, Brighton Rocks has offered to support and assist Windhoek Lager’s fundraising in aid of Save the Rhino International.

About Save the Rhino International

Save the Rhino International collaborates with partners to protect endangered rhinos across Africa and Asia with the goal of ensuring all five species of rhino thrive in the wild.

With the rhino’s habitat shrinking across the globe and poaching reaching crisis point, three of the five species of rhino are Critically Endangered and two of these species have fewer than 100 animals surviving.

Save the Rhino International is aiming to halt the twin threats to ensure by 2036, black rhinos, Sumatran rhinos and Javan rhinos will no longer be Critically Endangered.

To halt these twin threats, the UK-based charity works with the most effective people and projects in Africa and Asia to support rhino populations, champion community-led conservation, reduce the trade in illegal horns, and inspire rhino supporters across the globe to join in.
