CRIKEY MATE! THE DRAFT HOUSE ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIA MONTH

Spend some ‘Koalaty’ time with friends at the pub group’s month-long celebration of Australia Day

The Draft House is helping Australian fans celebrate in style with a whole month of authentic Aussie events, food and drink served across its 13 pubs throughout January.

Serving up a limited-edition range of brews, punters will love the award-winning Prancing Pony from the rolling Adelaide hills and Kaiju! from the ‘mad scientists’ of the Aussie beer scene. Customers will also be able to sample beers from New South Wales brewers Stone & Wood including their ocean-inspired Pacific Ale, as well the Nomad Brewing company which uses Australia’s native ingredients to make their distinctive beers. Craft beer brewers Mornington from Victoria will also be available alongside Pirate Life Brewing and the Big Shed Brewing Company, which has captured the flavour of Australia’s favourite ice-cream (Golden Gaytime) in their Big Shed Golden Stout Time.

So, grab a Sheila and head down to The Draft House to sample heaps of Aussie beers for £3 for a 2/3 pint during happy hour (5-7pm), some of which aren’t available anywhere else in the UK.

The down under deals don’t stop there as The House will also be adding Australian-inspired dishes to its delicious menus, including the Aussie Lot Burger, Veggie Aussie Lot Burger, The Chicken Parmy and Vegetarian Parmy.

There will also be an exciting events programme throughout January including barbeques, Aussie Happy Hours and themed pub quizzes.

The full line-up includes:

  • 9th January: Aussie Brewers Quiz (with prizes to be won) at Camden Road
  • 17th January: Bogan Shout (a collective bar shout by all the breweries) with an Aussie Happy Hour at Old Street
  • 26th January: Australia Day takeover (full tap takeover, DJs, games, giveaway and special beers) at Paddington and Milton Keynes
  • 26th January: Australia Day roof barbeque at the Tankard
  • 26th January: Australia Day celebrations across all Draft House sites with a special happy hour from 5 – 8 and Aussie food, drinks and games

Charlie McVeigh, founder and CEO of Draft House said: “We didn’t want to limit our customers to just one day of festivities for Australia Day, especially when there’s so many great-tasting Aussie beers to serve up. So instead, we’ve made it into a month-long celebration with grub, games and even a couple of drinks on us, what more could you want? We’re excited to ‘get gnarly’ and ‘skull a stubby’ with our friends from Down Under!”

Draft House’s Australia Month kicks off on the 1st January, please see your local pub for further details on events and menus.
