Curious Brewery to celebrate International Women’s Day with a series of beers available over the coming weeks

L-R: Shelley Harris: Senior Business Manager,  Emily Trotter: Assistant General Manager, Nikki Delo: Brewer, Millie Smythe: Brewery Tour Guide, Rebecca Walters: Warehouse Manager

Our fabulous team at Curious Brewery have been brewing a special beer for this event. Our Citra Sistas Beer was brewed by our newest member of the Curious Brewing Team: Nikki Delo. Nikki joined our team in the Summer of 2021 and has fine-tuned her brewing skills with us, building on her vast experience as a notable craft beer reviewer.

For this beer, Nikki fermented a classic lager style wort with Verdant IPA yeast, delivering Apricot & Tropical fruit aromas that perfectly compliment the Lemon, Lime & Grapefruit aromas of the Citra hops.

The beer will go on sale during the week of International Women’s Day (8th March). It will be exclusively sold at our Brewery restaurant direct from our brewery tank as we wanted to stop and take note and celebrate the women in our industry and, specifically, the amazing women that work for Curious Brewery.

In addition to brewing our own beer, we will also be stocking two fabulous collaboration beers from The Wild Card Brewery in Walthamstow. We have acquired some kegs of two collaboration beers – the first is a Locus Amoenus – a 5.2% New England IPA made with lager malt, malted & flaked oats, a collaboration between Wild Card and Georgina Young, Head Brewer at St Austells Brewery, Cornwall. The second beer is Deep Roots – a 4.1% Pale Ale, again brewed in collaboration between Wild Card brewery and Julie O’Grady of Neptune Brewery in Liverpool. These two collaboration beers will be available towards the end of w/c 7th of March.

About Curious Brewery

Curious beer was first launched in 2011, and the state-of-the-art brewery in Ashford, Kent, was built in 2019 by the original owners English Wines plc. A management team led by Simon George and Mark Crowther, and backed by Risk Capital Partners, bought the business in April 2021 with a view to developing and focusing on its premium, quality beer & cider production capabilities. Beer & Cider volumes have grown 54% in the first year of ownership, and the business continues to win awards – Barrel-Aged Bacchus Brut won a Gold Medal at the 2021 International Beer Challenge and Curiouser & Curiouser Chapter 1, from the small-batch beer programme, won Silver at the same awards.
