Des de Moor, author of Cask, hosts autumn talks and tastings

Award-winning beer writer and renowned tasting host Des de Moor is out and about this autumn hosting tutored tastings, talks and signings to celebrate the publication of his groundbreaking and comprehensive new book, Cask: The real story of Britain’s unique beer culture, introducing the delights of cask beer to a new generation.

Des will be at Moor Beer Vaults in Bermondsey, London, on 5 October, hosting a tasting with owner Justin Hawke, followed by a relaxed Sunday afternoon tasting on 8 October at Morocco Bound, Bermondsey’s unique craft beer and bookshop. On 11 October he’s in Nottingham for both the Robin Hood beer festival and an evening event at Castle Rock pub the Vat and Fiddle, and  20 October he’s back in London hosting a tasting at renowned Holborn heritage pub and cask specialist the Olde Mitre.

On 2 November he’s co-presenting with Justin Hawke again at the Queens Head, Newton, Cambridge, one of the ‘famous five’ pubs in every edition of the Good Beer Guide. 8 November finds him at the Nags Head, Reading, co-hosting with Siren brewery. Then there’s another relaxed Sunday afternoon session on the Blackhorse Mile, London, on 19 November at the Beerblefish taproom, followed by a visit to the Celtic Beer Festival at St Austell brewery in Cornwall on 25 November.

Des will also be at the ever-popular Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival in Hackney at the end of November and at award-winning cask pub the Victoria Inn, Colchester, on 7 December.
