Entries open today for The International Brewing Awards 2013

The competition, widely dubbed the ‘brewing Oscars’, returned to Burton-upon-Trent last year, attracting over 800 entries.  As a firmly established ‘must enter’ for many brewers around the world, we are determined to make 2013’s event an even greater success.

The International Brewing Awards are the longest-established international brewing competition. All beers are judged, uniquely, by working brewers only and your beers will be assessed by a panel of more than 30 experts, drawn from across the globe and from all sectors of our industry from craft to multinational.

Judging for the 2013 competition will be held from 13th – 15th February in Burton-upon-Trent.  We are delighted that Bill Taylor of Lion Breweries will once again be our chairman of judges.

New for the 2013 competition are two cider categories, for apple cider and for cider incorporating other fruit, juices or flavours. Also new is a Special Hop Beer class within the Speciality Beer category, designed for beers with a “uniquely innovative or intense hop character”. With these additions, we are confident of evolving the market relevance of the competition.

The entry fee has been kept the same as for the 2011 competition at £150 (+VAT at UK rate) per beer or cider.  Entries open today and close on 31st December 2012.

We hope you will want to be part of The International Brewing Awards 2013. To find out more about the competition, visit our website www.brewingawards.org or contact organisation@brewingawards.org.
