Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards 2024 – Open for entries

The 12th annual Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards champion the achievements of the UK’s current and emerging writers, publishers, photographers, broadcasters, content creators and personalities who encourage us to enjoy, experience and broaden our appreciation of food and drink through their work.

The shortlist and winners are selected by an independent panel of expert judges in13 categories from work first published or transmitted in the UK or Republic of Ireland between 1 January and 31 December 2023.  The judges seek to reward work where a blend of strong professional skills and sound judgement provide a greater understanding and enjoyment of good food and drink.

Award winners will be announced on Thursday 2nd May at a live celebration in London hosted by Chef and Broadcaster, Andi Oliver, alongside Angela Hartnett OBE, Chair of the Judging Panel.

This year’s eminent panel comprises:

  • ANGELA CLUTTON – Food writer, presenter and author of The Vinegar Cupboard and Borough Market: The Knowledge. Her new book ‘Seasoning – How to cook and celebrate the seasons’ is out in March 2024. @angela_clutton
  • ITAMAR SRULOVICH – Chef and Co-founder of the Honey & Co restaurants.  He and his wife, Sarit Packer, are also columnists for the FT Magazine, co-authors of award-winning books, and jointly host the Honey & Co: The Food Sessions podcast. @honeyandco
  • KATE HAWKINGS – Olive magazine wine columnist, and drinks writer, author of Aperitif and the Little Book of Aperitifs. @kate_hawkings
  • LEYLA KAZIM – Presenter, writer and journalist. BBC Radio 4 The Food Programme presenter, MasterChef critic and author of the best-selling A Day Well Spent (Substack). @leyla.kazim
  • MARK ANDREW MW – Co-founder of Noble Rot restaurants and Noble Rot magazine covering wine, food and the creative arts. @noblerotbar
  • WILL HAWKES – Beer and travel writer, author of London Beer City newsletter and two-time winner of the Fortnum & Mason Awards Best Drink Writer. @will_hawkes

  • DRINK BOOK: For a book about drink, drink culture, region or history
  • DEBUT DRINK BOOK: For an author’s first book about drink, drink culture, region or history
  • FOOD WRITER: For writing on any aspect of food in any media
  • DRINK WRITER: For writing on any aspect of drink in any media
  • COOKERY WRITER: For original recipe-led writing about the preparation and cooking of food in any media
  • RESTAURANT WRITER: For restaurant reviews in any media
  • PHOTOGRAPHER: For images of food and drink published in any media
  • PROGRAMME: For a programme on food or drink, broadcast on any medium
  • AUDIO: For a radio programme or podcast on food and drink
