Go WEST to party like it’s 1516!

WEST, Glasgow’s favourite independent brewery, is hosting an extra-special Reinheitsgebot 500th anniversary celebratory weekend on Friday April 22nd and Saturday 23rd April.
WEST founder Petra Wetzel said: “As the only brewery in the UK to produce all of its beers in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot of 1516, the German purity law, which is often considered the oldest food law in the world, we are all set to party like it’s 1516!”
The celebrations will see WEST hold a contest to pick 10 people to take part in a Community Brew at 9:30am on Friday April 22nd, with people invited to tweet or post pictures of themselves with WEST beer to enter. Winners will be picked on Friday April 15th.
And on Saturday 23rd, WEST will hold pre-booked brewery tours on the hour from 1pm-8pm as well as hosting live music throughout the day in the brand new Courtyard from 1pm-11.00pm with various bands performing, including an Oompah band.
Tickets to the event cost £5 and are on sale behind the bar. Tickets are also available via itison for £18, including a brewery tour, burger, pint of WEST and glass pint tankard to take home.
WEST operates a full production brewery and is home to a stylish beer hall and restaurant on Glasgow Green, as well as WEST on the Corner, a bar and restaurant on Glasgow’s Woodlands Road in the West End.
