  • Siren Craft Brew raises more than £110,000 with campaign still live
  • Bar, restaurant and bottle shop due to open in Reading in May
  • Supporters get 150% of the pledges back as bar tab or online credit
  • ‘Keep What You Raise’ campaign ends 19th April
  • Campaign hosted on Crowdfunder platform: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/siren-tap-yard-reading-centre

Reading-based Siren Craft Brew has raised more than £110,000 in a crowdfunding campaign ahead of its flagship tap room opening in Reading this May. The campaign closes Friday 19th April so supporters have just ten more days to get involved.

Siren will be bringing more than 30 lines of brewery fresh beer to the town centre, in a 3,800 sq ft space in the brand new Station Hill development. It will also feature a kitchen offering smashed burgers and tasty, street-food inspired small plates, sharers and snacks.

Crowdfunder pledges start from £50. By joining in, customers can redeem their pledge, plus a bonus amount, as credit on the Siren webshop or as a bar tab in the new location. Along with the credit offering, there is also limited edition merchandise up for grabs and the opportunity to book an exclusive beer and food pairing, or attend a launch party for the new bar. Supporters will also have the chance to put their names up on the wall in the venue.

Siren Founder Darron Anley comments:

“We’re blown away by all the support we’ve received so far, and to raise more than £100,000 is incredible. It’s really building the excitement to get our venue open this May. We’ve set up the campaign to try and get as many people involved as possible, this is a one-time opportunity to get 150% of your pledge back to spend in the new bar so we’ll keep doing our best to spread the word.”

Siren Craft Brew is the first food and beverage brand to commit to Station Hill, with the Berkshire brewery signing a 15-year lease for a 3,800 sq ft space at 1 Friars Walk. The brewery also operates a Tap Yard at its brewery in Finchampstead, and the George & Dragon country pub in Swallowfield.

The ambitious project is not only aimed at craft beer aficionados. Andy Nowlan, Siren’s head of marketing adds: “We don’t want this venue to just be for beer drinkers, first and foremost it should be a place that you and your family and friends, and their friends, want to spend time. So wines, cocktails and all kinds of non-alcoholic options will be given just as much attention as the beers.”

Meanwhile excited pledgers have been leaving comments of support on the platform.

Siren customer Juliet Larson said: “This is a great way for lovers of the Siren community to show support to a brewery that over the years consistently brews and delivers great beer and takes care of them in their taproom. I am looking forward to this new location, to drink good beer in good company and play cards!”

Nick Beckett will be travelling to the bar from Guildford: “I’ve been a fan of Siren Craft beers for more than 9 years but living in Guildford it’s been difficult for me to get home from the Finchampstead Tap Room. With a bar in Reading I can easily take the train.”

Owain Parry added: “A fantastic idea – I for one no longer living in the area will make sure I drop in whenever passing through Reading station. Siren started my love for craft beer so it’s great to support such a great business.”

The project is hosted on the popular ‘Crowdfunder’ platform and can be found here:

The project will receive all pledges made by 19th April 2024 at 11:45am at which point the campaign will close.

About Siren Craft Brew

Headquartered in Berkshire, Siren Craft Brew is a passionately independent brewery that truly believes there is a beer for everyone. Brewed and packed in Finchampstead since 2013, the multi award-winning brewery is proud of its quality, unfiltered, modern, flavour-forward beers using only the best ingredients.

The Siren Craft Brew range is firmly rooted in Greek mythology. It is said the sirens’ voices entwine into a complex, layered melody, and so do the ingredients that go into making great beer. Its most popular beers are Lumina, a 4.2% Session IPA which is gluten free, Soundwave, a bold flavoured 5.6% IPA, and Broken Dream, 6.5% Breakfast Stout and former Supreme Champion Beer of Britain winner.

Starting 10 years ago as a team of three, Siren Craft Brew has blossomed into a team of over 60 people, brewing the equivalent of more than four million pints in 2023. Founded by Darron Anley, the modern brewery now exports to 25 countries worldwide, has distribution throughout the UK and is now stocked by the likes of Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Morrisons and Asda, along with leading on-trade groups and independent pubs, shops, and restaurants.

Siren Craft Brew also sells direct to the consumer through its website and on-site tap room. The company has a prolific brewing schedule, on average releasing an experimental beer every week. A drinks industry trailblazer, Siren is a leader in barrel ageing and the interplay between wood and beer.
