The Drinks Trust and The Wine Trade Sports Club Foundation call on industry cyclists to join the Harvest Tour 2024

The Drinks Trust and The Wine Trade Sports Club Foundation are pleased to present for its second consecutive year The Harvest Tour, the industry three-day cycling tour in aid of The Drinks Trust.

The bike ride will take place from Friday 27th September to Sunday 29th September 2024, to raise valuable funds for The Drinks Trust, the drinks and hospitality industry charity. This year, the peloton will embark on a journey from Bristol to London for an average of 120 to 140km per day.

Again this year, the bike ride will be generously sponsored by VinLog powered by Kuehne+Nagel, the well-known logistics service provider that wineries, distillers and brewers, retailers, global importers and exporters alike rely on day in day out. Kuehne+Nagel, has been supporting The Drinks Trust’s work for many years and has once again stepped forward with support by partnering on this Tour.

Conceived by The Drinks Trust and The Wine Trade Sports Club Foundation at the end of 2022, The Harvest Tour, in association with VinLog, has established itself as an unmissable bike event conceived by and for drinks and hospitality people.

Commencing at the historic Averys Cellars in Bristol, the itinerary will showcase notable stops for cyclists, encompassing an enchanting tour and tasting session at Rambsury Brewery & Distillery, along with a visit to River Test Distillery in Longparish on the first day. The second day will feature a guided tour of Hattingley Valley Vineyards, followed by a delightful lunch and tasting experience with Freixenet Copestick. Additionally, a brief wine tasting session with Fells and a tour at the renowned Fullers Brewery in Chiswick are scheduled for day three, culminating in London with a celebratory glass of Tattinger graciously provided by Hatch Mansfield, followed by a welcoming BBQ at The Drinks Trust home. The peloton is expected to cover an average distance of 120 to 140 km per day.

The Harvest Tour in association with VinLog, will be a fundraising event with the ambition of raising more than last year’s astonishing figure of £26,000, which allowed The Drinks Trust to support over 600 people by:

  • covering the costs of 100 fully funded counselling sessions
  • covering the cost of 530 calls to the 24/7 con­dential Supportline
  • providing 10 people with significant emergency grants towards the cost of their rent and energy bills to allow them to stay warm and avoid eviction from their homes

The Wine Trade Sports Club Foundation is the charity of The Wine Trade Sports Club and was established 50 years ago to provide grants for people who are or have been involved in the UK wine trade or ancillary roles in the drinks industry and need financial assistance.
