In 2025, after twenty years of brewing, Thornbridge enjoyed its most successful year for cask beer production to date. The forefront of this success was Jaipur, which has firmly established itself as one of the country’s leading modern cask beers. Last year more than 3.5 million pints of Jaipur were brewed for cask. According to the latest data from CGA, this achievement places the flagship IPA as the ninth best-selling cask beer in Britain, a significant accomplishment. The result underlines not only the strength of the brand, but also the growing appetite for contemporary, hop-forward beers among drinkers nationwide.
The beer was selected as part of JD Wetherspoon’s prestigious ‘Class Act’ promotion, showcasing premium brands from across the UK and introducing Jaipur to an even broader audience. Alongside this, Jaipur has featured nationally across major pub and hospitality groups including Mitchells & Butlers, Molson Coors, Fuller’s and Stonegate.
Crucially, this success has been supported by strong and consistent backing from the Free Trade, whose ongoing commitment to quality cask beer continues to play a vital role in the category’s health. Their support has helped ensure that Jaipur remains accessible to drinkers in a wide range of pubs.
Simon Webster, Co-Founder and CEO of Thornbridge Brewery, explained “Following a couple of challenging years for the industry, the brewery is proud to report a return to profitability, marking an important step forward in its long-term sustainability.” He continued “This recovery reflects careful stewardship, a continued focus on quality and consistency and a clear confidence in the future of cask beer.”
Alongside Jaipur, Thornbridge brew a wide range of styles in cask and are home to the world’s only remaining operational Burton Union system. This heritage equipment helps premiumise their range, enabling the production of unique, classic beers and high-profile collaborations with globally renowned brewers.
Looking ahead, the brewery remains optimistic. With Jaipur continuing to lead the charge and cask beer showing renewed strength, the focus now turns to building on this momentum and continuing to champion modern cask for years to come.
