The Guild’s new website will be going live this Thursday, 6th April.
The aim of the new website is to provide a better showcase for you, our members, whether you are freelance writers, PR consultants, photographers, bloggers, trainers or beer tasters. With the new search function, prospective employers will be able to search more easily and, importantly, you’ll be able to control your own page on the site, adding new work, experience or skills.
One of the main changes from the current site is that we are giving members the ability to manage their own page. The website has been constructed using WordPress, a system many of you will be familiar with, so managing your profile should be easy. You will receive an email telling you how to set a password for your website page, once the site is live, and there will be guidance to help you update your profile page.
We’ve also anticipated some of the questions you might have about searching the website, and there will be a list of FAQs on the website and sent to you, but if you have a question not answered, please email us at secretary@beerguild.co.uk and we’ll do our very best to help.
We’re delighted with the new website, and hope you will be too. We welcome your feedback and suggestions and will, with HGA, who built the site for us, be monitoring effectiveness, to ensure that visitors looking for members with a particular skill are given the best match. It’s an evolving process, which you can help by making sure you keep your profile up to date.
