LE CHAMPION IS BACK– TIMOTHY TAYLOR’S BLONDE BEER WITH A TOUCH OF OOH, LA, LA!

Le Champion pint & pumpIn July last year Keighley brewer Timothy Taylor’s produced a special beer, Le Champion, 4.5% ABV, to celebrate the Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire. The beer is a French style blonde brewed from Alsace Strisselspalt hops and continental malts to give it a smooth body and a delicate hop fragrance.

Le Champion proved to be such a huge success that it will be brewed again to coincide with the 2015 Tour de Yorkshire cycle race which starts in Bridlington on Friday 1st May and finishes in Leeds on Sunday 3rd May. Last year huge crowds turned out across the route of the Tour de France and this year’s race will again visit many of Yorkshire’s famous tourist spots, including the steep cobbled main street of Haworth past the brewery’s Fleece Inn.

Timothy Taylor’s Sales Director Grant Simpson commented: “We only planned to brew Le Champion as a one off for the Tour de France, but a blonde Timothy Taylor’s beer proved to be so popular, particularly with women and younger legal drinking age drinkers, we have been bombarded with requests to bring it back for 2015”.

Le Champion will be on the bar at selected pubs across Yorkshire and further afield from the beginning of April.
