Leicester Beer Festival: 20/20 VISION

The popular Leicester Beer Festival returns to Leicester next week, and thousands of beer lovers are expected to turn out to take part in the festivities.

Haymarket Theatre | Wednesday 26th – Saturday 29th February 2020

Run by a team of volunteers from the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) Leicester branch, the festival will feature over 200 real ales and a range of 40 real ciders and perries. Local breweries like West End Brewery, Langton Brewery and Round Corner Brewery, along with local cider makers like Charnwood Cider will be represented along with a range of high quality cask ales from around the UK. Craft beer lovers are also well catered for with a dedicated KeyKeg bar. The final beer list will be released exclusively to members of Leicester CAMRA over the weekend, and made public on Monday.

Leicester CAMRA have just announced that they will be holding Blue Light Thursday during the festival. They are inviting all employees of Leicestershire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service, Leicestershire Fire & Rescue and Leicester’s Hospitals to join them at the festival on Thursday 27th February for free. Guests just need to show their warrant card, silver badge, service ID or NHS ID to gain free admission on the day.

And that’s not all! Rugby fans with a ticket to see Leicester Tigers v Worcester Warriors and Leicester Tigers Season ticket holders will enjoy a very special offer. Show your ticket on Saturday 29th February from 11am onwards and enjoy free admission to the festival worth £5, and pay just £10 to get your commemorative glass and £7 of beer tokens – all refundable if unused.

Every year, the beer festival chooses a number of charities to support. This year, Loros and Vista will share any proceeds made by the festival. Vista will be setting up a stall at the festival to help raise awareness of sight loss, including offering sight checks for a voluntary donation.
