Liverpool’s Neptune Brewery Crowned Best Brewery in Merseyside

The RateBeer Awards for 2020 feature two wins for Neptune Brewery.

The team at Liverpool’s Neptune Brewery are celebrating after winning twice at the annual RateBeer Best awards. Neptune Brewery, based in Maghull, has been awarded Best Brewery in Merseyside, as well as Best Beer for their pale ale, Mosaic.

Julie O’Grady, Co-owner of Neptune Brewery commented, “We’re thrilled to have been awarded the accolade of Best Merseyside Brewery by RateBeer. For us, it shows appreciation of the hard work and quality beer we brew.”

Mosaic is Neptune Brewery’s 4.5% single hopped pale ale. Brewed with Mosaic hops, the beer has juicy flavours of tropical fruits, blueberries, and papaya, with notes of citrus fruit.

Les O’Grady, Co-owner and Brewer at Neptune Brewery commented, “Having Mosaic awarded best Merseyside beer is testament to why it’s one of our core range; it’s a very popular beer with our customers.”

Neptune Brewery has recently purchased a canning line from Micro Can, allowing them to package more beers, and making a big difference to their business. New cans released so far this year include their first barrel-aged beers, Kelpie (a Wee Heavy) and Medusa’s Gaze (an American Stout), which have been well received by both trade customers and the general public.

The brewery’s latest beer releases are Takaroa, an IPA brewed using New Zealand hops, and Turbulence, a West Coast IPA collaboration with Manchester’s Marble Brewery. Turbulence was originally brewed in March 2020 for Neptune’s 5th birthday celebrations, but due to COVID-19 its wider UK release was very much restricted.

Beers are available whilst stocks last from selected bottle shops and via the Neptune online store, which launched last year.
