Huddersfield based Magic Rock Brewing and Bristol’s Wiper & True have collaborated on a new Low Alcohol (0.5%) Blood Orange and Mandarin Gose – ideal for those taking part in Dry January, non-drinkers, or those looking for a healthier start and something delicious to drink in 2022.
Seasonality and using ingredients appropriate to the time of year was important to both brands, with Blood Orange at the height of their seasonal best. The sharp, zingy citrus flavour is evoking a fresh new start to the year, so much so that they named the beer Fresh Start!
There has been a vast rise in Low/No products’ consumption, with the IWSR forecasting that category volume will grow +31% by 2024 and having a product in the market that stood out against the usual pale ale and lager styles was essential to both brands.
Filled with sharp and tangy citrus flavour – with the addition of hibiscus and beetroot, this beer certainly stands out in the glass!
Ariele Rovati, Head of Operations at Magic Rock Brewing, says, “It’s been great to play around and push the possibilities of low alcohol beer. We’ve loved working with Wiper and True on this project – it just made sense to club together to make a product that stands out in the glass and on the shelf. Richard Norgate, our creative director, has pulled out all the stops with our collaborative can design – we can’t wait to see this out in the trade!”
