Meantime Brewing Company Launches Latest Limited Edition Brew – The Black Pale

Meantime Brewing Company, the Greenwich-based craft brewer, has created its latest limited edition beer – The Black Pale.

Available on draught at Meantime’s retail outlets – plus a select range of London’s specialist craft pubs, bars and restaurants – the new brew offers drinkers something genuinely unique, turning the classic dark beer flavour profile on its head.

Traditionally, dark beer flavourings come from a high content of roasted malts and low hop numbers to give the beer a rich and deep profile, however The Black Pale brings forth the best of both worlds, combining roasted malts with strong punchy hops typical of an IPA.

Blackcurrant and blackberry are instantly apparent on the nose, whilst the roasted malts offer up notes of liquorice, raisin, caramel and coffee. The resulting beer is one of complexity and the expertly balanced flavour profiles are a testament to the skills of Meantime’s master brewers.

Alastair Hook, Brewmaster at Meantime Brewing said:

“A wonderfully complex and full-bodied beer, The Black Pale is a shining example of our unique modern craft brewing process – by taking traditional recipes and adding a modern twist we are able to create innovative beer styles that we hope will excite our drinkers.”

Meantime The Black Pale is a 4.5% ABV beer and the perfect accompaniment to spicy sausages and mature cheese dishes from a four cheese pizza to a cheeseburger.
