Know someone in the on-trade with bags of personality? 30 November is the last date for nominating talented individuals for Imbibe Personality of the Year Awards 2019, the competition that celebrates those in the hospitality industry who have done the most to raise the bar in the UK drinks scene.
To reflect the key role of beer and cider in driving a dynamic on-trade, the Tapster of the Year category has been introduced to reward individuals or teams from pubs, bars, restaurants or taprooms who are passionate about beer and/or cider. Other new categories include Bartender and Sommelier of the Year.
Now in its ninth consecutive year, the categories in full are:
- Bar Owner of the Year
- Bar Team of the Year
- Bartender of the Year
- Restaurant Personality of the Year
- Sommelier of the Year
- Pub Personality of the Year
- Tapster of the Year
- Innovator of the Year
- Educator of the Year
- Hot Stuff Award (outstanding achievement for those under 30)
- Industry Legend (consistent outstanding achievement over time)
Nominations must be in by Friday 30 November.
Entries come from the UK on-trade. Individuals can nominate themselves or their peers at: www.imbibe.com/POTY2019
Those entering do not need to vote for all categories, only for those which are relevant to their activity.
Previous winners have included David Bruce, Tim Bird, Roy Ellis, Mia Johansson, Ryan Chetiyawardana, Greg Almeida, the Galvin Brothers, Lyndon Higginson, Gabe Cook, Tristan Stephenson & Tom Aske, Heston Blumenthal, Mike Aikman, Jane Peyton BS, Annabel Smith BS, Jo Radford, Andrew McKenzie, Adam Pawlowski MS, and many more.
