NEW IN FROM SIGNATURE BREW ANTHOLOGY DOUBLE PACK – 2020 BARREL AGED & 2021 IMPERIAL STOUT

East London based brewery Signature Brew (www.signaturebrew.co.uk), is on a mission: to revolutionise the quality of beer at live music events. Launched in 2011, Signature is the world’s number one brewery for band collaboration beers, having brewed with Idles, Mogwai, Alt-J, Slaves, Mastodon, Frank Turner, Rodney P, Enter Shikari, Sports Team and many more.  December 2021 sees the return of one of their most anticipated annual brews, Anthology Imperial Stout.

This year Signature Brew is inviting beer lovers to experience two very special beers in one very tasty bundle. They’ve paired up the newly released Barrel Aged edition of Anthology 2020 with their freshly brewed batch of Anthology 2021 (£15 per two-pack of beers). 

Anthology 2020 Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (ABV 11%, Willamette Hops) – £9

What could possibly improve upon 2020’s mighty batch of Anthology?
Almost nothing! That didn’t stop Signature Brew from shipping some beautiful oak bourbon casks all the way from Tennessee and ageing a portion of the brew in the barrels’ sweet, charred embrace.

After primary fermentation the beer was transferred to Old Forester bourbon barrels and left for three months to absorb the flavours of the spirit and wood. The rich, oak flavours meld with the dark, chocolatey malts of Anthology to create something truly special.

Anthology 2021 Imperial Stout (ABV 9%, Willamette Hops) – £8

This jet-black imperial stout delivers chocolatey, dark fruit flavours, perfectly balanced with a toasty bitterness. Topped off with a dense tan head this is a statement beer topping off a big year for the brewery.

This year’s Anthology time capsule marks the 10th year of Signature Brew. A year that saw Signature Brew win SIBA’s Brewery of The Year (for a second time!). Signature Brew also helped friends connect over a pint of Lo-Fi and went on the news to announce their £250,000 beer grant fund to help independent venues. Beers were brewed with Hot Chip, Hospital Recs, Pigs x7, Big Joanie, The Wytches, Yonaka and Ed Gamble. Signature Brew also smashed the hell out of Big Foot Festival with help from Sports Team, Bob Vylan and many more. The brewery hosted over 40 gigs including The Skints, Dialled In Festival and a secret set from Skrillex. Plus, some killer stand-up comedy and a charity BBQ cook off.
