East London based brewery, SIBA’s Brewery of the Year 2021, Signature Brew (www.signaturebrew.co.uk), is on a mission: to revolutionise the quality of beer at live music events. Launched in 2011, Signature is the world’s number one brewery for band collaboration beers, having brewed with Idles, Mogwai, Alt-J, Slaves, Mastodon, Frank Turner, Rodney P, Enter Shikari, Sports Team and many more. August 2021 sees the launch of two re-released beers, Passions (ABV 5%, £4.98), a sweet & stormy Passion Fruit New England pale ale, now in a bumper 440ml can, and Sicilian Lemon & Citra Sour, C-Sharp (ABV 4.5%, £3.15 per 330ml can).
Passion is the lifeblood of music & beer. Without it, we’d be nothing. Passions is an over-hopped, hazy & gloriously fruity beer that pays tribute to the force that drives both the bands Signature Brew love and the beer they make. The base is a juicy New England pale, with lots of oats and wheat, a huge tropical aroma and a golden-yellow appearance. Passions is packed with sweet tropical tones & low bitterness, followed by a deliciously sharp finish from the generous passionfruit addition. Fun Fact, the Japanese characters donning the eye-catching can read ‘passion fruit’ and the numbers hidden in the label are the co-ordinates for the brewery!
Released last August in a 330ml can, this sweet & stormy NEPA went down an absolute treat with drinkers in lockdown, so with things very much back to normal now, it seemed only fitting to bring the much-loved beer to draught lines properly and also upgrade Passions into a much-deserved 440ml can.
Last year, during the height of lockdown, Signature Brew dropped a fruity little something that seemed to hit everyone right in the tastebuds. C-Sharp is a refreshing sour, brewed with real Sicilian lemons and Citra hops. Its slightly hazy, yellow appearance is matched by an aroma of lemon meringue, with hints of lime and elderflower – perfect for summer and one of Signature Brew’s fan-favourite seasonals. Catch it while you can.
