New Members Joining the Guild

A warm welcome to the following new members who have joined the Guild in the last few months. Senior PR Account Manager at Sharp, representing a number of organisations in the food, drink and hospitality sector including The Ferry House and The Rocksalt Group in Kent.

Jamil Zainasheff

Jamil Zainasheff is an award-winning brewer, author, beer judge, and podcaster. He has brewed every style recognized by the Beer Judge Certification Program, amassing first place or best of show awards for every style of beer, mead, and cider. Recognized for his expertise in brewing and recipe formulation, Jamil has published approximately 100 articles and has co-authored two highly acclaimed brewing books, Brewing Classic Styles (Brewers Publications, 2007) and Yeast: The Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation (Brewers Publications, 2010). His books are found on the desks of many craft breweries around the world. Jamil has also hosted shows on The Brewing Network for the past 16 years. In 2021 Jamil retired from Heretic Brewing Company, the 37 bbl brewery and distillery he and his wife started in 2010. Heretic in its first year of production took medals at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Jamil currently spends his time travelling, visiting breweries, and writing about his adventures.

Matthew Curtis

Matthew Curtis is a freelance writer and photographer based in Manchester, England. He specialises in writing about beer, pubs and the culture that stems from them, and has written for various publications including Vittles, Novara Media, BEER, Ferment and Good Beer Hunting. In 2019, he co-founded online magazine and podcast Pellicle, for which he is editor-in-chief. He is the author of An Opinionated Guide to London Pubs (Hoxton Mini Press, 2021) and Modern British Beer (CAMRA Books, 2021). His latest book, Manchester’s Best Beer, Pubs and Bars (CAMRA Books, 2023) is out now
