New Online Seminars for Guild Members in June: From Publishing Pub Magazines, to Photography

The Guild is pleased to offer a broad range of events and trainings for our members. While our regular training courses and events have been suspended until further notice, we plan to run some briefer online seminars in the coming weeks.

Online Seminar | The ups and downs of publishing free pub magazines with Brett Laniosh

Wednesday, 3rd June from 8-9pm BST

Online via Zoom

Brett Laniosh has been involved in editing and publishing pub magazines since 1995 when he launched the CAMRA magazine for Worcestershire. He now designs and publishes (on a commercial basis) magazines for CAMRA branches. In this event, he will share his experience of working with and supporting volunteer editors, advertisers and writers and his thoughts on the future of pub magazines.

To RSVP, email secretary@beerguild.co.uk and you will be provided with the Zoom link. Please note we will be limiting the seminar to 25 members.

Online Seminar | Intro to photography with Nicci Peet

Wednesday, 10th June from 8-9pm BST

Online via Zoom

Photographer Nicci Peet will be hosting a seminar on photography basics. She’ll discuss: getting to know your camera, lighting basics, and tips on phone photography.

To RSVP, email secretary@beerguild.co.uk and you will be provided with the Zoom link. Please note we will be limiting the seminar to 25 members.

More seminars for June to be announced shortly.

Future seminars:

Are you an experienced member willing to volunteer an hour of your time to share your insight on blogging, editing, writing press releases, podcasting, photography, beer judging or tasting or any other relevant skillset to our members?

Please contact Guild Chair Pete (petebrownsemail@googlemail.com) or Guild Secretary Natalya (secretary@beerguild.co.uk) with your interest and we’ll schedule you in.

In normal circumstances, the Guild pays standard going rate to tutors and presenters and we’d never ask Guild members to work for free, but in this instance, we are asking for members to volunteer their time, if able, to share their skills with other members.

Any questions, please contact secretary@beerguild.co.uk.
