New Series of Long-Form Beer Writing Launches With “Beer Trails: The Brewery in the Bohemian Forest”

“Beer Trails,” a new series of longer, writerly narratives and essays on beer and brewing, is launching this summer with its first e-book, “The Brewery in the Bohemian Forest,” by British Guild of Beer Writers member Evan Rail.

The titles in the “Beer Trails” e-book series are longer than most magazine features, though slightly shorter than most books. “The Brewery in the Bohemian Forest” would run over 60 pages in print, and includes a small glossary of Czech and German brewing terms. Like other upcoming titles in the series, “The Brewery in the Bohemian Forest” is a work of long-form, narrative nonfiction, documenting Evan Rail’s attempts to visit Pivovar Kout na Šumavě, a cult Czech brewery, and learn the secrets of the brewery’s historic brewing log — a mysterious manuscript that was allegedly once hidden inside the crumbling brewery walls.

Forthcoming “Beer Trails” titles are planned from Stan Hieronymus, author of “Brew Like a Monk” and “For the Love of Hops,” and fellow British Guild of Beer Writers member Joe Stange.

An easy-to-download e-book, “Beer Trails: The Brewery in the Bohemian Forest” is available from most major online booksellers.
