Nomadic Beers, based in Sheepscar, Leeds, are involved in four Leeds Beer Week events. The city-wide beer celebration runs from the 23rd to 31st August.
“Leeds Beer Week is a major event on the beer calendar and I’m really happy we’ve been able to arrange so many events for this year” said Gaffa Katie Marriott, owner of Nomadic Beers.
“We think it’s really important that being from Leeds is a pivotal part of Leeds Beer Week, so we’ve worked closely with other Leeds-based businesses and people to create these events.”
The first event starts on the eve of Leeds Beer Week (22nd August), with the launch of Beans of Toast, Nomadic Beers’ Coffee IPA collaboration brew with Toast Ale. The party is being hosted at The Wardrobe, who were also involved in making the beer.
“It was fun but hard work being involved in the brew day!” said Kelvin Rhodes, AGM of The Wardrobe. “Our launch party for the beer will also kick off a week-long tap takeover of Nomadic Beers.”
On Friday 23rd August, Nomadic Beers open their brewery doors for a rare and special Friday Open Taproom. The bar will be open from 12pm until late, with a pub-style quiz, run by Becky Pettman, featuring in the evening.
“We’ve worked with Becky before when we’ve hosted one of her Hops and Tots events” said Katie. “Lots of planning has gone into the quiz, we’re looking forward to it!”
The brewery’s Taproom will also be open again from 12pm until late the following day, Saturday 24th August.
“This is our regular monthly Open Taproom that we’ve timed this month to run during Leeds Beer Week” said Katie. “During this, we are hosting a Homebrew Competition where first prize is to brew the winning beer on our brew kit for release!”
The final event Nomadic Beers will be involved in is a ticket-only cheese and beer pairing event with Homage2Fromage, the monthly cheese club that started in Leeds. This will also take place at Nomadic Beers’ brewery.
“Tickets for our beer and cheese pairing have sadly sold out, but we’re looking forward to a fantastic evening with those who are coming!” said Katie.
Nomadic Beers’ brewery can be found at Unit 11 Sheepscar House, 15 Sheepscar Street, Leeds, LS7 1AD.
The Brewery is in the same yard as Enterprise vehicle rentals, a 15-minute walk from Leeds City Centre and just 3 minutes away from nearby North Brewing Co’s brewery tap room. The brewery is fully accessible.
