Sector Leaders Pioneer Research for Profitable Beds

  • Results of pub accommodation research results unveiled at the Profitable Beds Seminar in March

Stay in a Pub (www.stayinapub.co.uk), the UK’s leading online promoter of pubs with rooms has spearheaded some important trade and consumer research on behalf of the pub accommodation sector. The research is being undertaken by CGA, part of the NielsenIQ global information services company, and supported by VisitEngland and VisitBritain.

Paul Nunny, founder of Stay in a Pub, managing director of Cask Marque, and industry leader said:

“The purpose of the research is twofold: to establish profiles and behaviours of buyers, and potential buyers, of pub accommodation and to discover sector trends, insight and business challenges for pubs that sell rooms. The result will be the 2023 Pub Accommodation Report. The last report of this kind was published in 2019 and much has happened since then, so it will be an invaluable resource for the sector and industry decision markers.”

The results of this national research project will be presented at an event on 28 March in central London entitled ‘Profitable Beds’ sponsored by TXGB (Tourism Exchange Great Britain).

The event has been organised and promoted in consultation with the Pub Accommodation Group made up of representatives from key areas of the pub accommodation sector.

Other presentations at the Profitable Beds Seminar will include:

  • Establishing New Markets, Janet Utley, Head of Business Support Transformation: Find out about support tools available to pubs and hear from the VisitEngland/ VisitBritain research team about domestic and in-bound accommodation sector trends.
  • Maximising Revenue, Dominic Jackson, Founder of MavREV: Revenue management expert, Dominic Jackson, talks about selling your rooms to the right customer, for the right price, via the right channel at the right time to maximise revenue and profit.

  • Collaboration, Innovation and Growth, James Berzin, Managing Director, TXGB: Better connectivity and collaboration is needed to survive and thrive.
