TETLEY’S HIT £50,000 MARK FOR HELP FOR HEROES AS DONATIONS SURGE THROUGHOUT AUGUST

Beer giant Tetley’s has raised a staggering £50,000 which marks the halfway milestone in the ale’s pledge to raise £100,000 for Help For Heroes.

And August is already on course to be a bumper month as a penny a pint from every pint of Tetley’s sold in pubs, clubs and bars across the country, will go straight to Help for Heroes as part of Tetley’s ‘Raise A Glass’ campaign launched earlier this year.

A penny a pint will be donated from all pints of Tetley’s Bitter cask and draught Tetley’s Smooth Flow sold during August, and with the beer being one of the largest ales in the on-trade, owners Carlsberg UK, are expecting August to give a huge boost to the current total.

David Scott, director of marketing for Carlsberg UK, said: “The Raise a Pint campaign has got off to a fantastic start with well over half of our total already raised.  Throughout August, our Tetley’s drinkers won’t have to do anything different! Continue to drink Tetley’s and be safe in the knowledge they’re contributing to Help for Heroes!”

The Raise a Glass activity is being heavily supported with point of sale in the on-trade including pump-wobblers, dripmats and bar runners. Pubs are also being urged to hold their own fundraising initiatives in support of ‘Raise A Glass.’

The promotion is also being supported with a series of advertorials in the UK’s most read paper, The Sun, highlighting the importance of pubs’ fundraising abilities in their communities.
