WEST, Glasgow’s favourite independent brewery, marks its 10th anniversary next month with the launch of Opus268, a special limited edition cask aged wheat beer.
WEST founder Petra Wetzel said: “The perfect way to celebrate our 10th anniversary, this special Weizendoppelbock (wheat beer) spent 268 days in a 30-year-old highland whisky cask – hence its name. The result is a bold and complex brew with strong notes of lemon zest, marzipan, cherries and raisins.
“Tart and spicy, the whisky, a defining feature, shines through and brings warmth with it – and at 8.5% ABV it packs a punch! After 10 years, we’re still way out WEST!”
A special edition batch, only 245 70cl bottles of Opus268 priced at £10 will be available exclusively from WEST on the Green and WEST on the Corner.
WEST operates a full production brewery and is home to a stylish beer hall and restaurant with a beer garden overlooking Glasgow Green and WEST on the Corner, a bar and restaurant on Glasgow’s Woodlands Road in the West End.
