A festival which originally launched in the City in 2022 is making a triumphant return to Edinburgh in 2026, and will feature the biggest range of solely Scottish beers available anywhere in the world.
Indie Beer Scotland has taken place in Glasgow for the last three years but will be returning to Edinburgh and taking place at the superb Pitt Venue in Granton, featuring an incredible range of around 200 draught beers in every style from Scotland's best independent breweries, plus cider & spirits from independent Scottish producers.
Ian McGrath of Beath Brewing is one of the festival organisers and had this to say on returning to Edinburgh for 2026:
"Indie Beer Scotland is back where it all started in Edinburgh and we couldn't be more excited about our new home at The Pitt, an exciting new venue opened last year with street food vendors and craft beer from Barney's, one of the dozens of Scottish independent breweries that will be pouring at the festival. We'll have everything from traditional Scottish ales, Wee Heavies and 80 shillings, to modern IPAs, hazy pales, sour beers and lagers, as well as speciality and barrel-aged beers not available anywhere else.
Indie Beer Scotland is organised by Scottish brewers from the not-for-profit trade association the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates, who have frozen beer prices for the third year running, making the award-winning pints some of the best value in the City.
"Indie Beer Scotland is the biggest range of Scottish beers available anywhere in the world and we've frozen beer prices again for 2026 - if you're a beer lover then you will not want to miss this." Ian added.
Indie Beer Scotland is the country's biggest beer festival showcasing solely Scottish beers and offers great value for money, with a large number of session beers including cask and craft keg available from just £4 a pint.
Indie Beer Scotland is also the home of the Indie Beer Awards 2026 — part of the Indie Beer campaign which was launched to fight back against global-owned 'craft' beer brands that have flooded the market in Scotland and the UK. The awards judging takes place prior to the opening of the festival and aims to name Scotland's very best beers — making festival-goers the first to try Scotland's official best beers, with all this year's winning beers available over the three sessions Friday to Saturday. Beers range from session strength lagers and pale ales of 4%, to barrel-aged imperial stouts and scotch ales which tip the scales at a punchy 10% abv or more.
