Course details
This course is designed to increase understanding of how to assess and judge the quality and style of a beer. It enhances the experience and enjoyment of tasting beer as well as preparing judges in beer competitions for the processes and standards required.
The course will develop delegates’ understanding and correct use of beer terminology; awareness of inappropriate flavour characteristics, tasting 10 ‘flavour spiked’ beer samples; ability to identify key beer styles and to discriminate amongst beers of the same style.
It enables delegates to: assess and accurately communicate beer characteristics; identify key flavour faults within beers; guide others and make good beer choices and to judge beers against appropriate style criteria to select a worthy winner.
