An evening in the best possible taste awaits at James’ on Wednesday 8th March. Award winning beer writer and author of the Best Beer Book in the World 2022, Laura Hadland, will give guests a guided tasting of five beers, each matched with a tasty tapas-style menu item. Tickets are £20pp and are available in person at James’ Bistro or over the phone on 0116 251 3323. A vegan menu option will be available and all of the beers will be vegan friendly so that the event is as inclusive as possible.
The beers come from Melton Mowbray’s Round Corner Brewing, home of the Young Brewer of the Year and recipients of a string of gold awards for their beers at international competitions. Their ‘Uncommonly Good Beer’ is a shining star in Leicestershire’s stellar food and drink scene.
“You don’t have to know anything about beer to enjoy the evening,” host Laura says. “I’ll be introducing beers in a range of styles so we will find something for all different tastes. Round Corner really are one of the best breweries in the country, so this is a great opportunity to find out more about them. Complemented by Jim’s freshly prepared comfort food you really can’t ask for a better night out.”
The event is part of a lively programme taking place in the central Leicester restaurant. Open mic nights, art exhibitions and live music are proving popular, while more unusual events like ‘Geek Crafting’ is bringing a new crowd to the venue. Full details of all upcoming events are available through the James’ Bistro Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/JamesCBistro/events.
