Local Brewers Come Together For Unique Collaboration To Mark Bristol Beer Week

Independent South West brewers Beerd and Wiper & True have joined forces on a special collaboration beer to celebrate Bristol Beer Week.

Launching tomorrow (3rd Oct) in Bath Ales’ cosy pub, the Hare on the Hill, the new brew is set to delight drinkers across the city when it hits pumps.

Named the Bristol Cream Stout, the tipple has a creamy taste with hints of vanilla and sherry and is brewed at 4% ABV.

The brains behind the beer are Beerd’s brewer, Shane O’Beirne and Michael Wiper from new artisan brewery Wiper & True.

Commenting on the collaboration, Shane O’Beirne said: “Wiper & True produce some really interesting beers so we were excited to work with them on this new collaboration.

“At Beerd we’re always looking for new ways to excite and challenge our customers, and this new beer is another example of our desire to innovate. Working together with Michael we used high quality ingredients to create this dark, sweet stout – it was a lot of fun to make!

“Bristol Beer Week provides an opportunity for drinkers to try different things and learn more about the different flavours and styles of beer and I know this collaboration beer won’t disappoint.”

The Bristol Cream Stout was brewed in Bath Ales’ new brewery, Beerd, and is made with a range of dark malts, and lactose sugar to give it a sweet edge.

Bristol Beer Week organisers, Lee Williams and Steve Powell, said: “Demand for good, locally sourced beer has increased significantly over the last few years and this means that quality and availability is improving at a steady rate.  Bristol is at the forefront of the UK’s beer revolution.”

“This is the first year that we’ve organised Bristol Beer Week and the response and engagement that we have seen has been amazing.  It’s encouraging to see brewers coming together to work on collaborations because it provides an opportunity to brew something special and unique.  We’re pleased to say that the Beerd and Wiper & True beer is one of nine brews made especially for Bristol Beer Week.”
