Warwickshire based brewery Purity Brewing Company is once again toasting national success as their Gluten Free Session IPA was named the UK’s best Session IPA at the 2019 World Beer Awards.
The World Beer Awards are the global awards selecting the very best internationally recognised beer styles. This annual tasting selects, awards and promotes the ‘World’s Best Beers’ to consumers and the trade throughout the world. This latest award win now means that every brew in Purity’s portfolio is a recent award winner.
Purity’s Session IPA is a moreish, gluten-free session IPA, infused with real grapefruit peel and brimming with tropical fruit notes and hop aromas. In the blind taste test Purity’s entry fought off stiff competition from some of the best brewers in the country.
The recent SIBA Beer report highlighted that Session Beers are still the most popular in the UK market with more and more being released into the market. At this year’s awards the IPA and particularly Session IPA categories were some of the most hotly contested.
Purity’s Session IPA was the brewery’s first beer that was certified Gluten Free, initially released as a summer seasonal in 2018 the beer proved incredibly popular that the decision was taken to include as a permanent offering. The striking and eye catching design was the result of working in partnership with students of the Birmingham School of Art, the can was designed by two talented students, Zunaira Muzaffar and Beth Nicol.
It was not just Session IPA that picked up success at the World Beer Awards – Purity’s Longhorn IPA, Lawless Lager and Pure UBU all were recognised as medal winners for their styles. This National success is a true testament to the Pure Quality ethos that underpins everything at the sustainable focused brewery.
